Not just red. Piedmont is a fascinating land of white wines with elegance and freshness that will amaze you. The great white wines of Piedmont are expressed in neighboring areas, but very different from each other.
Starting from Alba, we meet the Roero hills, on the left bank of the Tanaro, whose sandy soils give Arneis rich in perfumes and great structure. Here are famous wineries such as Matteo Correggia, Cascina Chicco, Angelo Negro and Enrico Serafino.
Going further north, between Turin and Ivrea, the Caluso hills give rise to Erbaluce, the bright white of upper Piedmont. Moving towards Monferrato we find two white varieties that epitomize western Piedmont: Timorasso, a splendid long-lived and very elegant white found near Tortona, and further south near the border with Liguria we find Terre del Gavi, a white grape mada from Cortese grapes with incredible minerality and finesse. The most important wineries in these areas are Walter Massa in the Tortonese area and La Scolca in Gavi.
Our Piedmont White Wines Wine Tour is the perfect introduction to Piedmont white wines. A tour off the beaten path that will engage you, fascinate you and conquer your palate.
